Distances are measured from the origin (0, 0, 0). Select a row to inspect a system.
Import CSV, a JSON star array, or a saved project. Up to 250 systems. This replaces the current catalog after validation.
Provide x, y, z in light-years for exact positions. With only distance, a seeded direction is generated. With neither, the position is generated inside the radius above. Extra CSV columns become custom attributes.
Add, edit, or remove individual planets in the system inspector after saving this system. Planet details are preserved here.
Leave an unknown orbital distance blank. Known orbits use equally spaced AU decades with linear spacing inside each decade. Symbol size follows mass class, or type when mass is unknown.
Connections use true 3D distances. A range of 0 hides connections. Elevation guides drop to the nearest displayed plane. The rectangular view fits all systems automatically.
Exports include the complete chart at its current rotation, with your visible layers, title, and legend.
Sharp at any size. Edit labels and geometry in a vector editor.
A high-resolution image for documents, notes, and sharing.
Open a clean chart for printing or saving as a PDF.
Save project preserves the editable catalog and map settings as JSON.
Start with a CSV using these column names:
name,type,x,y,z,planet_count,faction,notes Asterion,G,0,0,0,6,Concord,Home system Vesper,K,-3.6,1.4,2.2,4,Concord,
Only name is required. Type defaults to G, and planet count defaults to 0. Coordinates and distances use light-years. Distance-only records get a seeded direction; they do not reconstruct real sky positions.
name
Supported types: O, B, A, F, G, K, M, WD (white dwarf), BD (brown dwarf), NS (neutron star), BH (black hole). Spectral subtypes such as G2V are grouped by letter.
For named planets and orbital distances, import JSON:
[{"name":"Asterion","type":"G", "x":0,"y":0,"z":0, "planets":[{"name":"Aster", "type":"Terrestrial","orbitAU":1.06}], "attributes":{"population":"12 million"}}]
Click a system to show its planets. Click it again or click empty map space to collapse them.
Monochrome removes color from stars, planets, stargates, and map exports.
Map symbols show a schematic summary of each system. Known planetary orbits use equally spaced AU decades, with linear interpolation inside each decade, on both the chart and inspector. Use the planet list or click a planet on the map to edit its name, type, orbit, mass, and notes. Symbol sizes indicate type, not measured stellar radius or mass.
To add a stargate, select a source system, enable Stargate, then select a destination on the chart or in the destination picker. Routes are bidirectional and independent of distance. Use Done to return to inspecting systems. Remove a route with its × button in the inspector. Stargates are included in saved projects and map exports.
Changes live in this tab. Use Save project to download a JSON copy, then import it to continue later. Closing or reloading without saving loses edits.
